Maurice Button is Chief Executive and Founder of C&F. His responsibilities include management of the executive team, strategic planning, new business development and relationships with external partners. Previously, he was an investment banker with Lazard Brothers & Co (now Lazard), NM Rothschild & Sons and Salomon Brothers (now part of Citigroup), and a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. He is a former chairman of one of the UK's leading policy think tanks and author of a number of research papers on government policy. He has an honours degree in Latin and Greek from Bristol University, and an MBA degree from London Business School.
Philip Walker has been Administration Director since C&F was established in 1993. He manages C&F's back office functions, including the IT systems and the administrative processes that support the conference and publishing divisions, as well as external relations with suppliers. He is a former treasurer of one of the UK's leading policy think tanks. Prior to joining C&F, he worked in sales and marketing for a number of UK companies.
Marian Shehata is Director of Conferences, with responsibility for managing C&F's team of conference producers, implementing the annual programme of events and raising sponsorship and exhibitor income. Prior to her promotion to this position, she spent five years as the conference producer for C&F's PPP conferences, including the family of international summits. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Dickinson College in the USA and an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Nick Bliss has been Publishing Director since 2004. In this capacity, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the publishing division and the delivery of the strategic publishing plan. Before joining C&F, Nick worked with Sweet & Maxwell, having previously held the position of Senior Publisher at FT Law & Tax. He has a total of over twenty years' experience in professional publishing. He holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy and Literature from Warwick University.
Nick Noakes is Marketing Director. For the last five years he has been responsible for the marketing of C&F's conferences and publications, the website, internal databases and press relations. Prior to joining C&F, Nick was employed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Thomson Financial Services and the Financial Times. He has an honours degree in Government, Politics and History from Brunel University and an MSc in Business Administration from Bath University.
