Estate Rationalisation in Central and Local Government - New Solutions and Thinking

March 17th 2010

Supported by both Partnerships UK and Local Partnerships, this highly topical conference will examine the various policy initiatives that are underway, and the development of new forms of cooperation between the public and private sectors that will facilitate estate rationalisation. It will also provide a case study and panel-based "how to" guide for delegates that will shed light on how departments and authorities have already implemented successful examples of effective estate rationalisation.

Among the issues that will be discussed are the following:

  • Delivering the Asset Management Stream of the Operational Efficiency Programme
  • New models for estate rationalisation
  • The future outlook for property outsourcing
  • Estate rationalisation linked to flexible working, technology and change programmes
  • The practicalities of achieving the likely scale of efficiencies required through more efficient estate management
  • Estate rationalisation in the context of shared services
  • Innovative approaches to estate rationalisation at the local level
  • Estate rationalisation resulting from outsourcing
  • Estate rationalisation as part of relocation
  • Understanding the types of transaction that are viable in today's financial environment

We are very pleased that John McCready, Head of Property at the Shareholder Executive, has agreed to give the keynote address. He will be part of an exceptional speaker panel that includes senior representatives from both the public and private sectors.
